"The first western to be shot in 3-D."

Wow, never heard of that one. Kind of an unimaginative title.

I thought for sure it was "The Man Who Wore Window Valance" (for his belt).

For me it is not technically a western; it takes place in Colonial America during the French and Indian war.
Directed by William Castle who went on to do some fun horror films.

I recently watched Hondo, which was shot in Mexico under quite difficult circumstances because it was filmed using the 3D process.

It's a star shaped piece of American history.

That's right, it's actually an "Easterner." And that's George wearing a shirt that much later Jerry borrowed.

(I always get George confused with Sally's stepdad for some reason.)

Didnt know you were on a first-name basis with Monty (George Montgomery), but I'm not sure he'd be happy you confusing him.

I agree. Not a western. SANGAREE, the next film that might be considered as the first 3-D western was set in Georgia, at the end of the Revolutionary War. So, also not a western. ARENA was advertised as "The First 3 Dimension Western," but the film is set in the present day of 1953. So, not a western. That makes the first 3-D western HANNAH LEE, which is set in Texas. HANNAH LEE opened the week after ARENA.
