Got a shipping notice on this title yesterday. The Last of the Fifteen-Hundred begin their conic-section flight path into the powerfield and toward the heart of the cloud.
I bought the 3-CD edition and consider it a healthy dose of Star Trek and Goldsmith awesomeness. That's my personal archive to preserve this score, and the edition that I considered uber-complete and "final" at the time, the one that would never need an upgrade. It shows what I know!
The 3CD is far more definitive than the LP set - give or take the film version of Inner Workings which you have to buy on the 50th anniversary set.
The mastering on this at Sony is stunning. Yes the level is low. You'll have to have a mid-range system at least to get the most out of it. I can only imagine what a true audiophile vinyl playback system would do with the Blaster Beam twangs.
C'mon! Somebody else out there must've listened to this!
This STAR TREK TMP SOUNDS incredibly to my poors old ears , i'm really amazed , thanks La La Land for this, hope we will get James Horner's Krull one day .
