Turned on TCM this afternoon and caught much of the 20-year tribute. It was great. It was followed by an "Extra" about the making of The Night Of The Iguana. Also great. Next, caught most of RO's interview with Peter O'Toole. Great again. It was followed by "Extra" about the making of Fame. Surprise, great! Then watched entire interview with Kim Novak. RO was great, Kim was moving in her candor.

I missed the Kim Novak interview but watched as many of the tribute pieces as I could cram in that weekend. I particularly enjoyed the Peter O'Toole interview and the extras, was uncomfortable while watching the Betty Hutton interview (no fault of RO's). Osborne was a great interviewer, so knowledgeable and likeable and discrete in his choice of questions. I'll miss his friendly presence on TCM. Hopefully at some point down the road they'll revisit some or those interviews or dig around for some other memorable samples of his great work.
