I remember driving from Roses to Gerona (Spain) in the afternoon back in 2002. On the radio was a taped concert from a concert Goldsmith conducted in Barcelona. Wonder if this will ever see the light of day, as there seems to be an official recording.
Beggars can't be choosers but it seems to me--and maybe its just me--that Goldsmith could never get Star Trek quite right in concert. It always sounds distinctly too slow to my ears.
I remember how mad I was when I find out about the concert - a week later, in a newspaper! I live in Hungary but not in Budapest and the news about this concert completely avoided me. No posters, no TV or radio news and certainly no internet page, the internet being a relatively new thing with much less users and much harder access back then.
It was a free concert held ina public square in Budapest.

Great post! Great to see him so alive and vibrant.....but within a year or two his illness would begin, and I can't help shouting at the screen "go to the doctor now! Nip this illness in the bud!"
