But not best picture, which is the craziest moment in Oscar history. And that includes a guy streaking behind David Nivens.

I admire both La La Land and Moonlight but to put a spotlight on one picture as the representative of all the other 7 losing pictures is cruel and sad.

Still, it liven up the proceedings.

Best Original Score

La La Land (Justin Hurwitz) (WINNER)

Jackie (Mica Levi)

Lion (Dustin O'Halloran and Hauschka)

Moonlight (Nicholas Britell)

Passengers (Thomas Newman)

Best Original Song

"City of Stars," from La La Land (Music by Justin Hurwitz, lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul) (WINNER)

"Audition (The Fools Who Dream)," from La La Land (Music by Justin Hurwitz, lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul)

"Can’t Stop the Feeling," from Trolls (Music and lyrics by Justin Timberlake, Max Martin and Karl Johan Schuster)

"The Empty Chair," from Jim: The James Foley Story (Music and lyrics by J. Ralph and Sting)

"How Far I'll Go," from Moana (Music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda)

I was rooting for "Audition" which I consider to be a much better song. I can't help wondering what Burt Bacharach would have come up with if he had written the melodies for the songs and had written the score.

Interesting article on the "Alan Menken rule": Alan Menken on Oscar’s Tangled Music Process http://www.thewrap.com/alan-menken-oscars-tangled-music-process-23714/

I wonder how many songs are too much to make a score ineligible /eligible for the best original score category.

Was it just me, or did Hurwitz seem incredibly bored with winning?

Coz he did. If you know that you're going to win, where's the excitement? I would even say there was an air of entitlement about him...

Too many times I've glanced and thought La La Land Records had won an award or other things. Then I actually read it. Then I'm bored, too.

No, I don't think so, but Hollywood probably are bored with him, they missed out on the biggest prize, the picture, Hollywood will probably go cold on Hurwitz now, & that wouldn't surprise me.

I don't follow this reasoning.

Mark R. Y., the many moods of Justin Hurwitz is hilarious!

(And I don't get leagolfer's point, either.)

My point is, PR team + Hurwitz, have Gobbie Watergate mouths, his family is from Poland & Syria Aleppo, I heard on the radio news a few weeks back, about there views to wars, politics, there not politicians stay out, they shouldn't be shouting out about other countries, all that fame has gave them a-hot fever. Hollywood is listening.

I remember reading about Brando a few years ago, about his world views in the 60's to Jews & other debate, well, it didn't do Brando any favours with his opinions, yeah, he got some good work/roles, but not what he could of fully achieved. Hollywood wasn't entirely impressed with Brando's smack.

Too many celeb's these day's, who want too be a politicians with smack, they are useless there proving nothing, just the marching & being Gobbie, all they need to do is carry on with there own work & keep quiet on world affairs.

You do know that celeb's lately, are being really out spoken, or haven't you caught on to that yet.

Should nobody in any field express political beliefs? Or are actors the only ones who should stay silent?

Lately? Whenever have they not been outspoken and expressed their political beliefs, to which they are accorded rights to do so, whether we agree with them or not? From George C Scott to Meryl Streep...nothing new here folks.
