I recently bought a reissue of Piero Umiliani's score to "La ragazza dalla pelle di luna" from Schema Records. I wasn't aware of this label beforehand but it seems they have reissued many rare Italian film scores and library music albums. Here's the catalogue of their releases: http://ishtar.it/label_list.php?IDMarca=8

Has anyone else listened to any of these albums? Do you have any recommendations or other opinions?

So far, I only bought 'La Conquista Di Luna' by Michelini from them, which is a very enjoyable album! I could have sworn it was written for a real instead of for an 'imaginary' movie, as it sounds like it fits an exciting narrative. You can find clips of several of the album tracks on YouTube, like this one:

I see that they also issued 'Svezia, Inferno E Paradiso' by Umiliani, which I already bought from Beat Records and also like a lot.

In the 1990s, when all of that Italian and Euro library stuff was coming out on CD, I picked up a number of compilations on Schema. Trouble is, I can remember offhand which were on Schema and which were not. I will report back, buy my faulty memory tells me that I was happy with all of them.

Suspense

Music by some guy called "Zalla" (actually a pseudonym for Piero Umiliani who wrote this library music with little or no commercial/popular appeal)

I have most of their CDs that are not re-issues.
I don't most of the LPs. I would like to but it is just painful to order + pay for shipping + rip to FLAC.

I was going to suggest Umiliani's La Ragazza Fuoristrada and Il Corpo as being in a similar vibe to La Ragazza dalla Pelle di Luna -- I did not know (until just now when I looked at the link you provided) that these three are a movie trilogy. (I love the Italian composers, but I am generally completely ignorant of the content of the films they've scored!) Questo Sporco Mondo Meraviglioso seems to be cut from the same cloth as these three as well, sophisticated and loungey.

Svezia, Inferno e Paradiso is of course a classic with the "Mah Na Mah Na" theme. This one's also nice and loungey, though a little "cheesier." It looks like Schema is only offering that one on LP, but there was a recent re-release on the Digitmovies label. Also, a number of the tracks from this are on the Psichedelica CD from Schema.

Fischiando In Beat is also a good groover, and the two Fabio Fabor CDs (Ballabili B81 and Ballabili B82 have a number of nice, up-tempo easy listening tunes.

I really like the Lesiman compilation that Easy Tempo released a number of years back, so I was glad to see Schema's release of Here And Now Vol. 1&2, but unfortunately I've found that one a little difficult to listen to, I think the mastering is a little too compressed or "loud." I didn't find that to be the case with the other Schema CD's I've mentioned.

Thanks for hipping me to this!
