Yeah, I noticed that in Best Buy here in the States about a year or so ago. I've still got a Panasonic DVD recorder from 2003 that I'm hoping doesn't die on me anytime soon. I still occasionally will make a DVD-R of some rare movie on TCM.
Once ubiquitous, DVD/VHS recorders will soon go the way of the dodo. Buying online (where there are still two or three models available) is now about the only source. And soon, like VHS-only machines or laserdisc players, eBay will be the only option.
