As long as there are CD soundtracks from labels to promote and sell, the FSM board will continue.

I always felt the other labels should help Lukas out financially with the forum . He after all gives them a free place to advertise their products, and I bet they get most of their sales from posting their releases here.

I guess one mark of sound board health is showing up to the threads one starts, eh? I almost forgot I had a ball in play here. At any rate, I'm not sure what prompted my panic over the IMDB forum closure at FSM, but I think it kicked in after finding my registration dated back 16 years and--approaching some of the other long term FSMers' histories--it'll be 17 in October here.

This whole sitch reminds me of the concept of a sentient Avatar culled from someone's comprehensive Internet history and data trail (as explored in the likes of Battlestar Galactica prequel 'Caprica'). Suitable metaphor, maybe, to explain the pang caused by the thought of losing our collective board identities and discussion from over the years. ...Like a pinch on a tendril of digital psyche stretching into the past. Like heavy, man, and ouch.

But the input from everyone has me reassured. In case of a threat to the board, FSMers can bob, weave, pony-up or relocate as needed, even if there isn't an app for that!

It's called: A PB & J on wheat, a half cup of lukewarm coffee with a side of sleep deprivation. But, yeah, that post probably could've used a wink emoticon (or two).

As someone who, recently, left the toxicity of social media, I hope the "old-fashioned" boards stay around for some time. Besides, I remember the original boards, so this is still the new boards, to me.

Hey, welcome back, Philly. I was wondering what had happened to you. I agree about social media. Seems most people just use it as their personal political soapbox (like anyone cares). When I do go on facebook these days it's just to "post and run," usually about something I'm listening to (like anyone cares).

This board's too slow to die. The entire internet can die, but this forum would slowly, very slowly, live on.

It must be the anniversary of it being slow in a previous era or something, because it's been real crawly lately.

It's purposely slow for all us senior citizens. You know score fans?

When it comes to this "board" it's about time everyone acknowledged that I'm the chairman of it.

Yes! I'm the "Chairman of the Bored."

If PhillySon's--welcome back, Old Sport--new avatar is any indication, he looks a helluva lot younger than I do, with my silver hair and beard, and I'm only 45; I know Philly is at least cruising along in his 60s, so good for him and his genetics.

And continues to be slow these past several days. Like that boring scene in Star Track: The Motionless Picture...

At least we could enjoy a wonderful score. That's what this board needs, muzak playing in the background as we wait, and wait, and wait for it to load. wink It literately took five minutes between clicks for the board to do something yesterday.
