That title track is very intense and interesting, sort of Moroder meets Elfman meets something beyond the sum of the parts. Very good, where's a synopsis of the book? Music for a novel is an interesting idea.

Other tracks on the soundtrack were inspired by David Shire (Track 14) and John Carpenter (various tracks). Anyway, Purged is the first in a series about an atheist ex-church minister who helps the police solve religiously motivated crimes. It's classed as Crime Fiction, but it has fairly generous shades of horror and supernatural hints. In the first book, which is released on February 16th in the UK, he's on the trail of a Christian serial killer. It's out in Paperback, eBook and another UK publisher is currently making an audio book out of it which will be released both as a digital download and physical CD edition. There's more info at my website www.peterlaws.co.uk. I'll be cropping up in various newspapers, magazines and national and local radio over the coming weeks. Regarding soundtracks to books, I used to write 'fake' soundtracks to novels I read, years ago. Specifically the three novels in the Howling series by Gary Brandner. It was a lot of fun to write something to my own book, though. I put it on Bandcamp in the hope could stream the album for free a few times, then it prompts for a payment of £5 if anyone wanted to download it or continue streaming. I was hoping it might be a tiny little fundraiser to supplement writing income and so far I've sold a grand total of...wait for it...ONE copy! ha ha. Still though, it's fun to just have it out there and we'll see if anyone gets into it. Thanks again for taking the time William. That was encouraging to me.

That sounds like a great premise just up the alley of BBC drama, it's the time for that, but it also gives a lot of scope for commentary about the religious psyche both positive and negative. Auntie Beeb producers could easily go for a dark thriller like this. Take this to the limit.

Is anybody else aware of other novels that have soundtracks? The Star Wars novel Shadows of the Empire had an original score by Joel McNeely that was released on Varèse Sarabande.

Peter, any chance of an ebook version in the USA? I see it is on Amazon.com as a paperback and audiobook, but not for kindle. I'll give your music a listen when I'm not in the mood for Wild Wild West tunes!
