Indeed :-) Well right now there's Luke and Leia. And potentially Rey. Suppose by "last" they mean Luke but... we'll see where they go with it...

I'm sure if Woody Allen had directed this episode, it would have been titled..
SW EP 8 The Last Jedi (or where did all the Midi-Chlorians Go?)

The title doesn't have that face punching oomph like EMPIRE, but I'm sure it'll be sufficiently intriguing once we see the movie.

Totally agree with Mutant, digging the hell out of that red.

Cool! I always wanted Lucasfilm to catch up to the old Marvel Comics original stories, and now they finally have!

Indeed. It doesn't have that "middle episode" ring to it. And, chronologically, feels strange just a skip away from Return Of The Jedi. Oh well I'm sure they have a plan...

The official Star Wars Tiwtter account announced the title. I wouldn't cite wikipedia as a source, FYI, as it can be edited by anybody.

That title has a ring of finality about it, as if there will be no more Jedi ever....my immediate first impression is that this film will be primarily about Luke (which we already knew it would), and that he will be the one to die in this film (like Han did in TFA). Once Snoke is vanquished in IX (and perhaps Kylo Ren/Ben Solo is redeemed...or not), where do they go from there? Perhaps there will no longer be a black-and-white, Sith-or-Jedi dichotomy to the Force. As we saw with Chirrut in Rogue One, and got a hint at with Maz Kanata, not all Force-users are Jedi or Sith...

Took me a while over the years, Jim, but love that Carmine Infantino art! I thought the title sounded familiar.

You're near the Infantino era, but the cover is by Walt Simonson, who had a stellar run on the book, too.

(And I always did like that blocky Infantino art, though many did not)

Don't want to be negative, but why again creating a new thread ?

There's already an original one: "John Williams and episode 8"
http://www.filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.cfm?threadID=113505

and already a second one when Williams confirmed his involvement called "John Williams - STAR WARS 8 (2017)"
http://www.filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.cfm?threadID=116394

Well anyway, intriguing title. As long as the movie is good, they can call it whatever they want!

You are right of course - I can see that now that I look closer. But that Imperial Lady is definitely Infantino, or a copy, or at the very least an influence - which is what caught my eye.

I never had any trouble loving Simonson's art. wink

I may be in the minority here, but think the title is awesome. Totally intriguing and exciting.

I much prefer it to THE FORCE AWAKENS title already. When I heard _that_ title originally the first thought I had actually wound up as a line of dialogue in the movie:

We have something similar in the CGI animated series "Star Wars: Rebels".

Not everyone who uses the Force is a Jedi or even necessarily a dark or light side user.

Kanan, while knighted a Jedi Knight in season two, fell out of the Jedi order. He simply weilds it in the good side.

Ashoka fell out of the Jedi order, too and appears to weild is for good as well, though Kanan is still more in tune with the order.

Bendu is neither here nor there and resides in the middle, where it's been implied a blanace in the Force can be struck. Though he does seem to always side with those using the light side of the Force for good.

Then we have Maul who uses the Force for the dark side, but it doesn't seem for the purposes of being a dark side user, but his own personal gain of revenge.

Jason Leblanc is already bumping the thread he created (which wasn't the original). And he harps on others when they create duplicate threads. Gotta love the hypocrisy
