Years ago I got The Cult Files Big Box, an early 4-CD pack of Silva Screen re-recordings of film and TV themes. Now, I'd always really disliked Dudley Simpson's zero-budget Stylophone theme for "Blake's 7", and I was intrigued to hear how it would sound in its "recreation". It wasn't any better - and then when that kind of dance floor beat came in! My brother came to visit a few years ago, and as we usually do, we had a few beers and sat down to listen to some music. At one point I said, "Oh, you must listen to this!", and searched for "Blake's 7", forgetting how funny it actually was. We started crying with laughter, and then when the disco bit started up, we both laughed so much that we spewed out all the beer we'd drunk, with a few bits of earlier-consumed tapas amongst the mess.

When I was young, my parents smoked. When we would take long trips in the hot car, for some reason, I could never get them to crack the window with all this smoke in the car. So, I'm sitting in the back seat, choking on all this smoke, it's hot and I'm also a little bit car sick. Meanwhile, they're playing 8-track tapes of certain music (I won't say what), but --- to this day --- when I hear that music, I feel nauseous all over again because of the association. So, I suppose, technically, it's not the music (I might actually like that music today, if not for this), but the association/conditioning I had against these certain artists/albums. (Once, I was in a restaurant and one of these songs from one of those 8-tracks came on, and I actually had to go outside for some fresh air. Weird.)
