I liked Face Off and knew Powell was something special when he first emerged on the scene in 1997. He's a smart, talented and very skilled composer. I love his interviews because he's got that British wit and as he's moved somewhat beyond Hollywood film scores and onto more concert works, you can tell the guy has a boat load of inspiration in the reservoir. I respect him as a person as well as his music.
Thanks for sharing. I'm barely a minute in and it's already a winner. I wish this guy would get to write more straight-symphonic, no-nonsense music like this.
