These requests drives me nuts. When I grew up you made friends. It was something you worked at and earned. Today you just "request" a friend. And people build their whole self esteem on whether or not a celebrity will "follow them". Then there's the drama if someone "unfriends" you. So everyone's personal business becomes everyone elses business. And no, I don't use Twitter or Facebook, but I see these phrase's online a lot.

You're no better than the rest of them. You're nothing but a vacuum of ego, swelling, ready to burst. Thinking your own empty desires to be all that there is in life. But there are more important things than your puny adoration of self!

That's what you should write to those people.

No friends.
No followers.
Everyone's on ignore.

I'm picking up my ball and going home.

Go home and play with your balls. It'll be a more constructive use of your time.

Sound advice at any time.
I wonder if our recent evacuee might have made use of it.

I do.
(Well, actually, I have someone that takes care of it for me. But, hey, TMI.)

Social media has turned the worlds population into groupies. Wannabe's trying to latch onto someone remotely famous or successful so they can feel good about themselves. Worse yet the hit on their psyche when they are ignored.

That's putting things into perspective.
