I saw that new Alien trailer, I have no idea why it was made. It has all been covered, and better. Ridley Scott should find a better (original) screenplay to use of his talents on.
Unfortunately, Scott's greatest talent is making blah movies.
I agree that his output has slipped over time. In the early days he was pretty good; I appreciate Duellists, Alien, Bladerunner, to a smaller degree Black Rain, and with further qualification, 1492.

I didn't write off the movie. I said that the production design does nothing for me. This is having seen 3 movies in the series, all of which were awful and 2 of which were by the director of the movie in question.
