These "coloring" exercises were created for publicity and were part of the pressbooks put out to theaters. It was up to the theater manager to determine if publishing one of the pictures for a coloring contest would be beneficial or not. I saw one for the BBC Sherlock series, and diacovered that there are books for other series and films as well. Who is doing all this coloring anyway? Certainly not the kida, who do everything via phones and computers, so it must be the adults. I dunno, I think kids still color up to grade school. And "adult" coloring books have been around for decades now. (subjects like realistic animals, nature, still life, science, historical, etc.) I Understand it's also used for rehab and as an activity for scenario citizens.
