I hope it's actually a good movie this time.

Love Giacchino, but just imagine what Velazquez could've done with this.

I run hot and cold with Giacchino, but his "Jurassic" score was my least favorite of the four. I would have liked to see somebody else get a shot at this series, but I'm not surprised that they're not taking any chances with this billion dollar franchise. (And in case that seems overly cynical, I hasten to point out that I'm not putting my $150 million on the line here. I get it.)

The fatigue of scoring films back to back to back really showed with his JW score. Awful.

JW certainly was the least of his four scores last year (and may all composers have a fruitful year where something like JURASSIC WORLD is the worst of their scores), but 'awful'?

It's not like we're talking about 'Trent Reznor conducts the Sharper Image State Opera Orchestra' or something like that.

I think the biggest problems with Jurassic World are the main theme and the awkward integration of Williams themes.

The music for Owen's Raptor Squad, Hoskins, and the I-Rex was pretty good

Just a boring choice. And making a film that follows up a terrible sequel on par with JPIII? That's like some writer went shopping for The Idiot's Guide to Making Another Crappy Jurassic Park Sequel. I don't forsee a near future with a good JP film coming up.

Much like JPIII, the last film should have been quietly swept under the rug and something different done. And a new choice of composer*.

I look forward to a change in composer, even if it's a rejection, just to get somebody else in.

* = And don't even fucking say Hans Zimmer, Brian Tyler, Lorne Balfe, or Steve Price. For that matter, nobody who's worked with Zimmer -- the whole thing is so burned out now and there are so many other talented people out there to give shots.

so this man is doing:

- JURASSIC films
- STARTREK films
- APES films
- some MARVEL films (the newest SPIDEY)
- M:I movies
- PIXAR movies

and if he's not doing STARWARS is because John Williams is still alive

(btw, he composed the score for Collin Trevorrow's previous films before upcoming STAR WARS Episode IX)

Giacchino seems to be speading himself over too many films and it really seems to show. His Jurassic World score wasn't terrible, it just wasn't very inspired. I'd rather see someone like Joe Kraemer get an opportunity with another big film.

I'm liking some of his scores of late or at least large parts of them, but yeah it kinda bothers me the same few ppl are working on all the major franchises, be it composers, directors, writers...
