Here is the latest picture of me and my shadow, we are waiting anxiously for the arrival of the postman, hoping that he'll be bringing us Jurassic Park.

I would post a picture, but I'm totally useless with anything computer like, so up dating my Avatar is the best I can do.

Max is now 20 months old, still growing (three inches in the last two weeks) and weighs 74 lbs.

We've had dogs for over THIRTY years and he is the most affectionate dog we've ever had.

Your avatar is really cute, both you and the dog. We had dogs forever, but when last our dog died about 3 years ago, we decided not to get another one. We are older and travel more.

I envy, you Chris. Dogs give us unconditional love, which we rarely receive from people. Keep enjoying your dog and thanks for sharing.

I find the company of a loving dog far more rewarding than most interaction with other humans.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that dogs are mans best friend. I might patent that phrase.

That's terrible, we (according to out vet) don't have that problem up North, and so far (bless him) he doesn't show any interest in sniffing, chewing or eating snails and slugs. He is a fussy boy, but then most Weimaraner's are, especially over food.

It's dreadful losing a pet at any age, even worse when they're so young.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention, I mentioned it to the wife and it was her who said she'd been in contact with the vet because she was worried about the chance of lung worm, and believe it or nor he is the wife's dog, well he's supposed to be. He was her 60th birthday present and he's a big sloppy lad. He's lovely with the grandchildren and everyone he meets.

His only downside is that he pines human company so we can't leave him at all, he goes everywhere with us, church, shopping, wherever we go Max is there. We did leave him at home a couple of times and had to replace the kitchen floor (twice) numerous pairs of shoes and a box set of Ennio Morricone cd's.

We've learned our lesson and adapted our lives to the needs of the dog.

Nobody's (dogs included) perfect, but he's the best we've ever had and a great source of comfort and joy when life as it inevitably does, goes pear shaped.

Thanks for that Chris my dad took it real bad I buried the dog for him in the back garden it was a shock just to seem him laying there having a fit then dying no vet can help once there in the throat, Your wife is right Chris to investigate summer time can be dangerous there's all ways different bugs insects midges around, maybe your right the midland's & more north of the boarder have a little less heat in the summer's the South can be an oven in summer.
I Replaced the dog for my dad with a Doberman pincher he seems to like that its a good guard dog & listens to command.
I all way's keep the grass down now to a minimum there easy to spot then, take care of the Dog Chris he's nice.
