A quick audio preview of their take on HAY-FORK and BILL-HOOK composed by Jerry Goldsmith:

Can't wait for this release. Does anyone know when that will be?

Did James ever confirm 100% that it was indeed "Thriller"? I was reading through the thread, and the best I could guess was that James never said "no" to "Thriller", and Yavar pretty quickly assumed it was "Thriller."

I'm just saying, I read the thread more than once and never was sure that James had affirmed this was the next Goldsmith. BTW, the more Goldsmith, the more better, in my book.

I didn't assume (and I wasn't the only one who concluded) it was Thriller. James posted recording clips. It's definite. The only question is what form it will take, as I very much doubt it would be the complete Goldsmith Thriller scores (there are too many). So it'll either be excerpts from each score or a handful of the best in complete form.

I would think it's happening. They are recording it. I hope so.

In the past day James just posted a new video of the sessions on his Facebook account, and also posted in the comments field. It's definitely confirmed as Thriller (and it's going to be awesome).

It's definitely Thriller; whether it's Thriller and other things I don't know.

Hi Guys. Just reading this thread re: the recording of THRILLER.

Apologies if I have got this wrong. But by coincidence just yesterday I came across a radio interview with NIC RAINE on U-Tube - 'RADIO ZOOM'. I'm not sure when this was recorded but at 25:00 mins into the 45:39 min discussion the subject of Jerry Goldsmith came up and future recordings and Nic Raine's words are

'We have recorded two more Jerry Goldsmith scores - One from a famous long running TV series, not Star Trek, and another film'

Mr Raine also states he is not obliged to disclose the titles.

Sorry guys, but I can't up-load the thread. I have just listened to it again. As I said, this may be an old recording. However, it does say Published on 08/12/2016. I thought I'd let you know just in case!!

Cheers.

See that thread from not so long ago where it was voted as the most wanted JG re-recording.

QBVII is a 'long running TV series'? smile I mean, calling Thriller that is a bit of a stretch but calling QBVII that is *really* a stretch. But what's important is that the recording is awesome!

A year or so ago, Leigh Phillips did a poll on The Cult of Jerry Facebook page to pick which one of several possible re-recordings he wanted to do, possibly through crowdfunding. Thriller took top spot in the poll. So I'm guessing this is the final result of that and that Leigh is the one who put together these suites.

In any event, I'm ecstatic enough about this that I returned to the message board here for the first time in forever! Those who are members of the Cult of Jerry will probably be relieved to know that I'll probably retire my warhorse posts of the YouTube videos I did of all of Jerry's Thriller end titles. Just be glad I didn't post the complete musical scores I extracted and edited from the isolated M & E tracks of the DVD set all the time too!

"Q.B.VII" was first shown in '74 and repeated the next year. Despite this, I feel that "Thriller" will be the World Premiere Recording event of 2017!!!!

Is this release going to be just a Goldsmith release
or will it also include some Morton Stevens and Pete
Rugolo material as well?

James said only efforts from Goldsmith, in another thread.

Well James has confirmed that it will be music from 6 Scores. I would assume all Goldsmith.

Which 6 of Goldsmith's 18 THRILLER Scores would you want the most or are hoping are included?

My 6 would be:

THE WEIRD TAILOR
MR. GEORGE
HAY-FORK AND BILL-HOOK
THE POISONER
THE GRIM REAPER
GOD GRANTE THAT SHE LYE STILLE

All the others are truly unique and wonderful in their own right. I would love them all recorded.

Your choices please?

James already answered that in another thread: Goldsmith only. And in this thread he specified it's six Goldsmith scores.
