Reminds me of the time my composer friend Joseph Marcello and I attended s concert whose opener was "Fanfare for the Common Man" by Aaron Copland. From the first bar, it was immediately apparent that all the rehearsal time had gone into the concerto with the guest soloist. Instead of Copland's famous brass sonorities, it was one dissonance after another. Joe reached over and put a pen to my program, and right above the listing for the Copland piece be wrote, "Arnold Schoenberg's Arrangement Of..."
