Way (way) back in my teenage years, when I was just getting into classical music, this LP was always on my turntable:

For decades I assumed it was a compilation of Capitol Hollywood Bowl Symphony recordings, but now I'm not so sure. Apart from a (P) date of 1966, the only other thing I have discovered is that it was issued in the States as part of this Columbia House boxed set:

Can anyone possibly furnish me with any background info about the actual orchestra(s)/conductor(s)? They're actually rather good performances!
