It certainly has some moments that remind me of classic Silvestri. I would probably enjoy a custom set of highlights from the album. The orchestra also sounds quite good, and more natural than we normally get for this kind of score. My main problem is that the theme is a little weak but hey we have woodwinds! There are some solid orchestral action cues as well driven by high register brass as well.

I know, it breaks my heart every time I see this thread resuscitated, feel a flurry of excitement, then look inside to discover all over again that JNH was replaced by Henry Jackman. It's like freakin' Memento or something.

I have a personal history with the production of Jumanji. It was filmed in the small NH town where I went to Film School in ‘94. HUGE deal at the time and in fact the Parrish Shoes sign has never been removed from the brick walls downtown.
I now live in that same town (Keene NH). There was literally a shrine to Robin Williams downtown that was erected when he passed.
The idea of watching a rebootquel looked pretty onerous based off the trailer, but apparently this new movie acknowledges the first and is a continuation of the story? So fingers crossed.
Horner’s work with Joe Johnston is pretty legendary of course. I like Jackman, seems like a cool guy so hopefully this will be a fun one.
Incidentally, Brian Cranston filled in for James Corden on the Late Late Show and had Jack Black and Duwayne Johnson on the whole show. It was pretty much the best hour of late night I’ve seen in years. Cranston killed.

What a nice story thanks for sharing. The film is doing WW numbers and I am surprised that so little has been said about the score to such a huge hit. Has anyone seen the film?
