Don't have high hopes for the sequel, but this should be fertile ground for JNH to roam free in full adventure mode! Looking forward to listening!

Does anybody off hand know for a fact what this is? I remember hearing it is a sequel, but some people are indicating it's a reboot. I don't have the interest to research it, but I would like to at least know so I don't refer to it as "Jumanji 2" or a sequel if it isn't.

From IMDB trivia: "In August 2016, Dwayne Johnson confirmed that the film will not be a reboot or a remake, but a sequel to the original film and a tribute to Robin Williams." The plot synopsis on the same IMDB page is absurdly cryptic—"Explorers go looking for the humankind game that had ended up in a mystical jungle." That sounds like it's been translated through about five different languages via Google and probably qualifies as a grammatically sound sentence only under the loosest of definitions, but I take it to imply that the same havoc-wreaking board game which featured in the original has now itself gotten lost in an actual jungle (a "mystical" jungle?) and explorers are seeking it out for some reason rather than letting it remain lost for the good of mankind. If my memory serves me correctly, this board game was last seen in the hands of a pair of French children at the conclusion of the original, suggesting that the events of the film are about to begin all over again, only in France. We're probably meant to believe that the events of Le Jumanji, as well as any number of other such misadventures, have long since passed. On a side note, this appears to be the second time James Newton Howard will be scoring Jack Black (and presumably CGI apes) in a jungle, unless I'm forgetting any notable entries in his filmography.

Thanks. I don't know -- I don't think CGI apes can be a notable entry in anybody's resume... ;-)

According to Film Music Reporter Henry Jackman has taken over scoring duties... Bummer.

Didn't Danny Elfman score the Jumanji sequel? Oh, wait, that was Goosebumps.
