This CD release is a sheer delight!
To finally have ALL the songs, with some score tracks* sequenced between! Blow Me Down!
AND a bonus CD of Nilsson demos. Great booklet with informative liner notes too! Bless my stars and garters.
Sweet! (Sweethaven).
Thanks Varese smile

*I'd forgotten how classically orientated the music score was.

Agreed! One small ( wink ) complaint about the liner notes though; they're too small (at least for me) to read without bifocals. (And yes, I have good vision.) Top notch release, though. I've been listening to it almost non-stop... smile

They've took some sh!t this year for one thing or another (Varese, that is).
BUT!
Credit where it's due.
I've played this CD set A LOT!!!
It's THE perfect presentation of the music from the film. I canna complain about a thing (much as we love to around these parts) wink
Well Done All.

"Din We" remains the worst song on the album. The Nilsson demo recording is bad, too. Both are simply drunken, tuneless mumbling. Dreadful.

One man's trash is another man's treasure, I guess. I find the song not only tune-filled but it always made me wish we'd gotten more of Barnacle Bill. I felt empathy for the guy because of this song and, although it's definitely odd, it's pure Nilsson and absolutely purely in keeping with the tone of Altman's film. (I do see why it appeals to few, granted.)
