Two releases this time. One an early 80s tropical coming of age tale gets a fresh look in this new expanded edition. The LP was this composer's first album! Second is a 2-CD set greatly expanding an early 90s primary-color comic book adaption. Features composers' brilliantly produced original CD program plus expanded program.
I'd love to have a complete Dick Tracy (especially considering my copy of the old CD has a spine slash). Hopefully this means a complete Darkman will be made available at some point.
I've always loved the track in the film* (I call it The Prayer) when the girl gets sick and the boy takes her to an ancient statue amongst the trees and prays for her return to health. It was never on the LP (which I loved anyway). Looks like I will be able to hear it (finally) in all it's glory. Good things come to those who wait
I always mock people who hear of a release and somehow make the connection "I hope this means [vaguely related score X] is coming soon!"
That said, if this is "The Blue Lagoon," I hope this means "Return to the Blue Lagoon" is coming soon!
Indeed. What every label's gripe is - is to have worked hard (sometimes years) to get a release done only get a "fine, now when are you going to do XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX?"
And yet this continues to define the predominant kneejerk reaction on this board.
First thing that came to mind on the second title was Elfman's Dick Tracy. So if that is indeed the second title hopefully they've included the music from this trailer also.
I made myself a nice version of The Blue Lagoon from the Twilight Time blu-ray isolated score, but I'll happily add a proper CD to my collection ... and a complete Dick Tracy? YES.

Yep. But I'm off the hook, because I did it ironically.
