The movie title pretty much describes how I'm feeling at the moment.

GREAT NEWS!!! Dario Marianelli to Score Joe Wright’s ‘Darkest Hour’ http://filmmusicreporter.com/2016/11/08/dario-marianelli-to-score-joe-wrights-darkest-hour/ Good that the PAN situation hasn't dampened the working relationship between them. The director had no problem with the score. It was the 'suits' from California who were unimpressed with the score. Such a pity. What a pity!... Marianelli's music is "Quality" and I think not all the composers are original as him.

The replacement Powell score on Pan is pretty terrific, and a great recording. But, I did like the little snippets of Dario that I heard before it was tossed. I wish it had remained, it would be nice to hear the whole score released. I am looking forward to Darkest Hour as both a score and a movie, Joe Wright is a real talent, as is Dario Marianelli. I even enjoyed the film Pan quite a lot. This sounds pretty great; http://www.indiewire.com/2017/09/darkest-hour-review-gary-oldman-winston-churchill-telluride-1201872512/ But the MVP here, the one person who’s able to hold the movie together despite all the dodgy bits in its latter half, is composer Dario Marianelli. Wright’s go-to guy has delivered some stunning work for the director in the past, but his score for “Darkest Hour” is a rare thing of beauty. Throbbing with vigor one moment, tumbling pianos towards despair the next, and then eventually entwining those disparate modes together into the cathartic bombast that accompanies Churchill’s famous speech (“We shall fight on the beaches…”), Marianelli’s music holds the film together, and the people of Britain along with it.
