I just watched these films again, and I find them very moving! I almost cried a bunch of times during both films, I had to force myself not to.winkI LOVE the scores by Horner, possibly my favorite scores!

I have never seen "The Return," but I'd like to have the opportunity to see it.

While I do enjoy the original film, COCOON, I consider it a "guilty pleasure," simply because by the end of the movie, the audience realizes that it has been totally scammed!

I mean…C'MON NOW!
Aliens from another planet have to hire a BOAT from earthers to go out to sea and rescue their comrades.
That is the main premise of the story.

However, at the very end of the film, when that VERY SAME BOAT, filled with earthers is in jeopardy, those VERY SAME ALIENS drop their huge spaceship out of the sky to save them!

HELLO???

ARE there any BRAINS in the room?

BUT…I do love James Horner's music!

Fun film, fine cast, accompanied by Horner's bittersweet score. And yes I wept a few times.
Only thing that really annoyed me was Steve Guttenberg's character.

Love these films so much. Joe's Gift cue in two and the visuals just move me to tears.
