accidentally came across a blurb about Richard Brautigan just now, and coincidentally his body was found on this date in 1984. Odd since I've been thinking about his books recently.

Agreed.

I was on a major RB jag for a couple of years in my 20s. I always felt that his first four novels and first two volumes of poetry were his best.

same here. A family relative has become a fishing fanatic, and while I did give everyone a copy of Trout Fishing, I'm not sure that's what started it.wink

I, too, went through a Brautigan jag in my 20s. I remember really liking In Watermelon Sugar and The Abortion. I wonder now if I would be horrified by his treatment of the female characters.
