IMPOSSIBLE ODDS---Clint Eastwood will reportedly direct the movie based on the memoir by aid worker Jessica Buchanan who was kidnapped by Somali pirates and held for ransom until she was freed by SEAL Team 6 after three months of captivity. Brian Helgeland (MYSTIC RIVER) will write the script.
GAME OF THRONES---it was confirmed that Bella Ramsey is returning as Lyanna Mormont for Season 7 after she was seen on the set in costume.
THE HELICOPTER HEIST---Jake Gyllenhaal is the star/producer of this movie about the 2009 heist in which bank robbers landed a stolen helicopter on the top of a GS4 cash depot building in Stockholm, Sweden and absconded with $5 million.
LOGAN---Boyd Holbrook will play cyborg Donald Pierce, creator of the Reavers. Sienna Novikov will play the young mutant girl Laura X-23, whose hand was shown in a recent poster. Laura is a young Wolverine but has two-pronged claws on her hands and feet. Richard E. Grant will play Dr. Zander Rice who created the X-23 mutants based on research by his father who was killed by a mutant escaping from the Weapon X facility.
BLADE---Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige denied a report based on Kate Beckinsale's comment that Marvel is working on a Blade project, "There is nothing imminent to my knowledge."
VENOM---Sony Pictures head Tom Rothman commented on a possible Spider-Man spinoff featuring Venom, “We’re working on a lot of that stuff [the spin-offs]. There’s a concerted effort, so I think there will be real news as opposed to speculated news before too long… We wrapped filming the new Spider-Man about a week ago. There’s a little pick-up shooting being done now but [it’s] pretty much done. It’s fantastic… We’re really excited about it”.
JANIS---Michelle Williams is in talks to star in this biomovie about the last six months of Janis Joplin's life.
ALADDIN---Walt Disney Pictures live-action underway with Guy Ritchie as director.
WIZARD OF OZ---prequel movie underway based on the book HOW THE WIZARD OF OZ CAME TO OZ in which circus stuntman Oscar Diggs was whisked to Oz where he became the Wizard.
HALT AND CATCH FIRE---AMC renewed the series for Season 4 which will be the last season.
MALLRATS---Kevin Smith said he's shopping a tv series based on the movie to Netflix, Amazon and Hulu.
