I'm using Windows 10. At first it automatically played a cd or dvd when I inserted it into the pc. However lately, it will play a cd only if I manually bring up Windows Media Player and click on the cd. With a dvd, sometimes it will play a dvd, but usually it says the dvd is "empty" and won't play it.
So any suggestions on why my Windows Media Player is so erratic---or any suggestions for a better media player I can download for free?
On my Windows 10 PC, I actually use iTunes as media player.
It is by no means perfect, but no other media player suits my needs as well, and I find it far more capable than the Windows 10 Media Player. It's also free (to use as a media player).
