Before Colin Towns gave the curmudgeon GP a piano-centric score for the television series, the original Doc Martin films were graced with very unique scores by Mark Thomas. I can't quite describe the style, so listen to a sample from one of Thomas's websites for yourself:

Thomas had a few other cues on his website before he redesigned it (they're no longer available), but that's the most of it that's ever been released.
Stylistically it sounds a lot like a couple tracks from Thomas Newman's "American Beauty" (the first and last on the soundtrack).
Has anyone else seen these films, and is hoping for some sort of release one day? The films are so obscure, having been overshadowed by the excellent television series, that I doubt it'll ever happen though.
Sorry for resurrecting an old post, but I, too, have wanted a CD of Thomas' music for the two telefilms for quite some time. Back when he had samples on his website (two others besides the one linked to above), I emailed him to ask if there was any chance of anything coming out, even if it could be composer-released, even download only!
If you have the Region 4 DVD of the movies, the ending theme music plays out (99.99% in-full) on the disc menu.
