My brother has a UK 45 of this. It is on a black label with the removable center, I believe an EMI label. I'm not sure if the artist is listed as Barry Gray or the vocalist.
Anyway, the single version is very similar to the TV version, but it is longer and contains at least one additional stanza not on the TV show opening.
Does anyone know this version, and has it ever appeared on an LP or CD?
Barry Gray was a superbly talented and diverse composer. Thoroughly nice guy too - I met him a few years before his death and he was a really lovely fellow.
As a youngster I loved all of Gerry Anderson's stuff but particularly Thunderbirds. I'm pretty sure it was Barry's Thunderbird's March that switched me on to soundtrack music so I owe him a huge debt of thanks.
Some of us of a certain age (I'm in my 60's) and particularly from the North of England like myself will, if phrases like Hit Parade and Discs ring a bell, recall Barry Gray's Joe 90 theme being a smash hit at Northern Soul venues such as my 'mecca' the Wigan Casino. Vibrant venue for us devotees, but 40 years ago now easy.
I think this must be the one, but my brother's copy has a black label.
That literally just brought a tear to my eye. I don't believe I've heard it since a was a nipper but it's a song that feels as if it's part of me. Along with Aqua Marina and Captain Scarlet - and yes the Thunderbird March.

I thoroughly envy you for that. I wish I could have met him just to say how much I appreciate his music and how much joy it gave me. I regret to this day not having been able to visit Derek Meddings to tell him how much his work influenced my childhood. He asked for me several times but all the times I couldn't go, and now all that is left is the regret for not having taken a chance.

There are several TV-series without which my life would have been completely different, I'm absolutely certain of that, and Barry Gray's work was part of that. That is why, despite the high cost, I am going to become a Fanderson member just to order soundtracks.
