THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 22

PHANTASM: RAVAGER---trailer released for the sequel.

Trailer link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A4tAuouyJTQ

ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY---Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Iger said ROGUE ONE may not earn as much as THE FORCE AWAKENS which pulled in $2 billion worldwide, “an experiment, of sorts...We never felt it would do the level that FORCE AWAKENS did." He added, “The level of interest [in ROGUE ONE] is as high as it was for FORCE AWAKENS.”

DC COMICS---Time Warner CEO Jeff Bewkes commented on the criticism that the Warner Bros./DC Comics movie have received, “We do think there’s a little room for improvement. We can do a little bit better on the creative. The DC Comics characters have a little more lightness in them than maybe what you saw in those movies, so we’re thinking about that. The strategy worked. The execution did deliver what we wanted to do. We’re right on course or better. The main thing was to launch DC and reinvigorate it with the fan base. The reboot of Batman with Ben Affleck was a big success.”

GAME OF THRONES---casting for Season 7 includes a 30-45 year-old "fierce warrior" who is over six feet tall, muscular and Middle Eastern or mixed heritage. Speculation is the role is Dothraki.

TREMORS---Michael Gross, who has appeared in all of the movie and tv episodes in the franchise, commented on if he's returning for the new Kevin Bacon tv series, "I've heard nothing about Kevin's series, so must assume I will not be involved."

JUMANJI---Karen Gillan (DOCTOR WHO), who plays Ruby Roundtree in the sequel, commented on fan reaction to her skimpy outfit shown in the recent sequel photo, "Jumanji! Yes I'm wearing child sized clothes and YES there is a reason! The pay off is worth it, I promise!"

HAUNTED---DreamWorks and producer Steven Spielberg cancelled the horror movie and fired director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo and writer Scott Z. Burns after their script rewrite changed the movie's complexion. The movie was inspired by "The Turning of the Screw".

ALITA: BATTLE ANGEL---Ed Skrein is in negotiations to play villain cyborg Zapan.

PACIFIC RIM 2---Jing Tian (KONG: SKULL ISLAND) will co-star in the sequel with John Boyega and Scott Eastwood.

MY SO CALLED WIFE---Uma Thurmon will guest star on the Bravo series about a female con artist who is pursued by some of the men she married for ill-gotten gains.

MONSTER TRUCKS---Paramount Pictures parent company Viacom released its fourth quarter earnings statement which included a “programming impairment charge of $115 million” connected to the “expected performance of an unreleased film”. Speculation is the movie in question is MONSTER TRUCKS which premiers in four months and stars Lucas Till, Jane Levy, Rob Lowe and Danny Glover.

LOL, I don't think there will be any payoffs in a Jumanji sequel.

Speculation: her character starts out young, goes into the game and becomes a woman...

Alternate reason: To keep dads and/or closeted mums/hetero/bi teen boys/lesbian/bi teen girls whose children/sliblings drag them to the movie entertained.

I never saw any little kid wearing what she's wearing in that photo.

For one thing, a child wouldn't need extra room in the top, which she definitely needs.

And those boots she's wearing are almost as tall as most small children.

WTF?

(Frankly, I can't imagine why a "sequel" is being made to JUMANJI to begin with....)

Would it hurt Karen Gillan to smile occasionally, she always has this scowl (like something's giving her gyp). I think in the past someone must have told her she looks good like that.

She has a rather plain smile.

But it does shine when she shows her teeth, if only she felt more compelled in other photos.

Except that spider monkey in the background (although it's hard to see amongst the vines).
