Shown last night on the Sky Arts channel, and repeated today - a concert of italian film music, introduced by alec baldwin and martin scorsese, played by N.Y philharmonic. Featuring themes from amarcord (rota), la doce vita (rota), Anonymous venetian (cipriani), the leppard (rota), Scent of a woman (trovaioli), City of women (bacalov), mondo cane (ortolani/oliviero), Juliet of the spirits (rota), 8 1/2 (rota), il postino. (Bacalov). They also did themes from OuatitW and incontro and Cinema paradiso - but were the rather disappointing song versions. Ennio under represented - or at least had his talent muted by the song versions - and a little too many Rota themes. But good nonetheless.

Yes. He sang Incontro. And sang duet with soprano Renee Fleming for Cinema paradiso. And il postino. I have to say it was a bit of a competing racket and after a while i wanted them to shut up so i could hear the theme!!
