CRISIS IN SIX SCENES---Amazon released a trailer for the new Woody Allen tv series.

STAN LEE---20th Century Fox bought the life rights to Stan Lee and is developing an 1970s action movie with Lee as the main character. Its tone will be similar to the Roger Moore James Bond movies and KINGSMEN: THE SECRET SERVICE.

GOTHAM---photo released of Fish Mooney returning.

STAR WARS---TNT bought the basic cable tv rights to five of the original six movies, STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS, ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY, STAR WARS: EPISODE VIII and EPISODE IX and the young Han Solo movie.
Also, Disney-ABC Television President Ben Sherwood commented on a possible live action tv series, “Somewhere we hope in a galaxy not too far away there will be a television show that will air on one of our networks. But I wouldn’t get anybody’s hopes up too high. They have a lot of movies to make between now and then.”

BATMAN---director Joe Dante (GREMLINS) said Warner Bros. wanted him to direct the original BATMAN movie, “Well, the Batman that I was going to do would have been completely different from what they ended up making. This was right after Gremlins, and Tom Mankiewicz, who had written a lot of James Bond movies, had done this take on Batman which was certainly not Chris Nolan-dark, was certainly darker than the TV version. It started with his parents being killed, and it was a revenge story. But it was very outlandish, had a lot of giant props in it.
The Joker was a major character in it. I wanted to hire John Lithgow for that part because I had met him on The Twilight Zone movie. And for whatever reason, I started to gravitate more towards The Joker than towards Batman. And I actually woke up one night and I said to myself, ‘I can’t do this movie – I’m more interested in The Joker than I am in Batman, and that’s not the way it should be.’
So I went and told them that I couldn’t do it, and they looked at me like I’d completely lost my mind. But in the end, I think I was not the right guy to do the movie… I don’t regret not doing Batman, in the sense that I’m not sure what it would have ended up being like. But I certainly can’t say it was a major career-booster, my decision not to make it.”
Dante's version would have had two major villains, The Joker and Penguin, and ended in a James Bond-type large scale conclusion.

IRON MAN 3---Rebecca Hall said she was originally going to be the first major female villain in a Marvel movie, Aldrich Killian, but the role went to Guy Pearce. Earlier, Shane Black said Killian was changed from female to male after Marvel said kids would buy more toys of a male Killian than a female Killian, “I signed on to do something that was a substantial role. She wasn’t entirely the villain – there have been several phases of this – but I signed on to do something very different to what I ended up doing. Halfway through shooting they were basically like, ‘What would you think if you just got shot out of nowhere?’ I was meant to be in the movie until the end… I grappled with them for a while and then I said, ‘Well, you have to give me a decent death scene and you have to give me one more scene with Iron Man,’ which Robert Downey Jr. supported me on.”

WINCHESTER---Jason Clarke (ZERO DARK THIRTY, DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES) will co-star with Helen Mirren in this movie about Winchester firearms heiress Sarah Winchester and her haunted mansion.

CROOKED HOUSE---movie based on the Agatha Christie novel starring Max Irons, Glenn Close, Terence Stamp, Christina Hendricks and Gillian Anderson.

ANDORA---Clive Owen, Joanna Lumley, Toni Collette and Gillian Anderson star in this movie based on the novel.

REGULAR SHOW---Cartoon Network announced Season 8 will be the last.

Can you imagine though, a 1980's Joker movie with a Goldsmith score?

They bought the LIFE rights to Stan Lee?...

Is this like "Tom Clancy" getting purchased?
