Yes we might be the oddballs looking for those lost gems but what are the ones that never seem to disappoint you and are always waiting for someone to buy? Here are my top 5:
1. Titanic 2. Batman Forever 3. City of Angels 4. Braveheart 5. The Crow
What I used to see in multiple copies at f.y.e. in their used soundtrack sale bins.
1) Gladiator 2) The Sony reissues of the various Star Wars scores. Lots of them kicked around for years used at around five bucks each. Then they suddenly were gone and the prices were jacked up on the newer shrink wrapped stock of those titles when "The Force Awakens" came out. 3) A bunch of the various old GNP Crescendo Star Trek albums. Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, etc, etc. 4)Forrest Gump the pop songs album. 5)Titanic. Never a shortage of used copies of those in the bins. 6)Woodstock. Again, never a shortage of used copies.
I found the original issue of "The Accidental Tourist" at the Salvation Army for about $1.99 not too long ago. Sure, the value has been depleted since the release of the FSM version, but it's still nice for a John Williams completist like me to have the original too, and to have gotten it so cheaply.
found Supergirl (Varese) at a thrift store for about one dollar a few months ago! Unfortunate it was a library copy, as I tried to restore the cd by removing the library sicker I damaged the surface of the disc, repaired it with a piece of aluminum foil and now it plays perfect. Still happy with it!! When will this score be re-released? It is way overdue!
