I met both men, and I have to say Anthony Daniels was certainly the nicer of the pair-very chatty and shook hands, dedicated pics, couldn't have had more time for me and my friend.
Kenny Baker on the other hand was (if I'm being charitable) having an off day-couldn't even be bothered to look up and address us.
I think Daniels is being unfairly slated-comments like "he abhorred Baker". He may have had a private beef with Baker but he didn't broadcast it-Baker did and over many years.
Daniels always considered himself an actor whereas Baker was a variety performer-very different people from very different worlds.
Maybe Daniels just got sick of being the black hat cos he was less accessible to fans and people took Baker's version of events as truth.
I can see why his tribute was less than glowing as the men clearly had little in common but why be hypocritical?-he would have been/was criticised for saying anything.
