To answer my own question above: the prologue IS on the film on Netflix, so I assume also on blu ray. Worth seeing.
I answered about the Blu-ray above. Of course the prologue is included -- it's part of the movie!
As for Netflix, I haven't checked, but are they showing it fully letterboxed. Often on Netflix the Fox titles, though shown in recent HD remasters, are 16X9 cropped. Currently they are showing JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH, not only cropped, but not the 4K remaster that Twilight Time has put out.
(UPDATE) OK, I'm looking at THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY right now on Netflix. It's fully letterboxed, but it's an older transfer from 35mm film, not the same HD transfer that's from 65mm on Blu-ray.
