IMO, it's one of Giacchino's greatest dramatic efforts. Brilliant trumpet solo for the main title. Coplandesque Ameticana. Some modern scoring elements. Beautiful and haunting solo voice work (which is missing from the video above.) I love it!

Ah man, that trumpet solo was great, written to really let Malcolm McNab shine! There were three samples (including the main title solo) up on Giacchino's old website, dunno where if anywhere you can get them now...
Yeah, I remember grabbing everything I could from his website, back in the day, when he was a newbie. Those tracks from SEMPER FI are pretty sweet..I play 'em often.
Now I don't want to tease myself with a listen. No commercial release? What is this, 1988?!
An obscure TV movie from 15 years ago.
Which was supposed to be a TV series but never got picked up.

PS - I played a good chunk of the score on Robert Daniels' Visions in Sound radio program http://visionsinsound.ca/ earlier in the year. When the archive of that show goes up I'll let you know so you can hear more of the score.
Semper Fi was actually a pilot for a series that was never picked up and aired once as a TV movie. I remember it being a fairly forgettable affair but the score was nice.

Thanks -- and let's hope one of the labels steps up and releases this score.

Which I mentioned earlier, which makes me wonder if you've blocked me. My first confirmed block?

Any idea when this archived show will be uploaded?

I ask again -- when will I be able to hear this show?
