This is an upcoming techno-thriller (premieres in Norway in September), but I've just gotten an early promo, and really digging what I'm hearing. Some of you might be tired of retro, 80s synth scores, but I'm not. I can't get enough, especially not when it's done as deliciously as this.
Chalk this up as yet another soundtrack higlight of the year for me.
Here's a Youtube preview:
(Yes, I know this has its own PR thread from Krakower-Poling, but it doesn't mention the composers, and I thought it deserved that for maximum exposure. "PR: Nerve" isn't quite click-bait enough)
Thanks for the recommendation. That one had passed me by (seems to be from last year). I love what I'm hearing!
But there have been a few cool electrostyle scores this year that are battling for my top list of the year -- NERVE, STRANGER THINGS (Dixon & Stein), MADE IN FRANCE (Rob), TRIALS OF THE BLOOD DRAGON (Power Glove), THE NEON DEMON (Martinez), EDDIE THE EAGLE (Margeson) and partially DEADPOOL (Junkie XL).

That's what annoys me about those PR threads from Krakower/Poling. The composer's name is never mentioned in the heading.
I understand your desire for top-notch physical releases, absolutely (even it's not that important to me, personally, anymore). But I also hope we can get to talking the music at some point. This is really a gem that I was hoping to discuss once people get it -- in whatever format.
