THE ROCKETEER---Walt Disney Pictures "sequel/reboot" with a "modern-day twist" underway to its 1991 movie that starred Billy Campbell, Jennifer Connelly and Timothy Dalton. The new movie, titled THE ROCKETEERS, is set six years after the original movie in which Cliff Secord defeated the Nazis, and is described as:
"An unlikely new hero emerges: a young African–American female pilot, who takes up the mantle of Rocketeer in an attempt to stop an ambitious and corrupt rocket scientist from stealing jetpack technology in what could prove to be a turning point in the Cold War."
JONNY QUEST---FORBES magazine has seen the script for the Warner Bros. live action movie based on the 1964 Hanna-Barbera animated tv series. It says the movie is faithful to the original series and is based on episodes from the series.
Among the movie's elements are: Race Bannon is an elite government agent/adventurer. Hadji is in the movie and his origin story is connected to the movie's main plot. Jade has a past history with Bannon, but has questionable loyalties. Robot arachnids and jet packs are featured.
Idris Elba, Bradley Cooper and Will Smith are being considered for the Bannon role.
THE EXORCIST---poster released for the Fox tv series based on the classic movie and novel.
JEKYLL---Chris Evans is in talks to star in the Lionsgate movie based on the 2007 BBC One miniseries about Dr. Jrekyll and Mr. Hyde.
MARY POPPINS RETURNS---Meryl Streep is in talks to play Poppin's cousin, Topsy, in this sequel starring Emily Blunt.
SUPERGIRL---photo released of Supergirl and Tyler Hoechlin as Superman.
SUICIDE SQUAD---it's been confirmed that The Flash (Ezra Miller) is in the movie.
JUMANJI---Nick Jonas is in talks to co-star with Dwayne Johnson in the Sony Pictures remake of the 1995 Robin Williams movie.
NEW GIRL---Megan Fox will return for eight episodes beginning at midseason of Season 6.
SCREAM QUEENS---Jerry O'Connell has joined the cast in an undisclosed role.
BALLERS---HBO renewed the series for Season 3.
BEACHES--Lifetime remake of the 1988 Bette Midler movie. Idina Menzel stars in the remake.
