Maybe they'll just show it in front of Dr Strange to remind viewers that this is a Marvel Movieverse movie, since the trailers haven't connected it to the other films at all, really.

It could be Feige's way of distancing Phase 3 and on from Marvel Comics division, since the recent split.

I take the new logo as focusing on the movies vs. comics history, now that they have a library of films. I would assume this will be more resonant for the movie-going audience vs. comics aficionados. And new music makes sense for a new approach.

It feels a little long but I'd rather have one long production logo than five or six different logos which seems to be the norm these days.

The fanfare itself is....typical Marvel, which is to say a lot of bombast but not a lot of personality. I'm really curious now to hear how Giacchino approaches DOCTOR STRANGE because I wonder if this is an Edgar Wright type of situation where Marvel pushes back if composers want to bring too much of their own style to the project.

I think that's absolutely the reason a new logo has appeared now, why its imagery focuses on the films rather than comics, and why the word "studios" is now as prominent as the word "Marvel" - as if to drive through the message that "this is a MARVEL STUDIOS productions, not MARVEL COMICS". It's a big middle finger from Fiege to Ike Perlmutter.

I still want to punch Wright in the face and other parts of his anatomy for Hot Fuzz and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, I'm all for pushing him back...

I generally prefer Giacchino in most cases, but I have to go with Tyler's on this one.

Plus, it was shorter smile

I like this a lot. Very long though. I hope there's an abbreviated version they'll use. The amount of logos, graphics and fanfares in front of movies these days is out of control.

I was JUST thinking this while watching Star Trek: Beyond this weekend.

Okay, so there's a logical explanation for the change. I can accept that, but still I prefer the original logo. I think the films should honor their origins as comics, and the artist that brought them to life for over 60 years. But that's just my humble opinion.

This is just speculation but I think something ugly went down with Marvel and Tyler after The Avengers 2 starting with Elfman's hiring at the last minute. And from that point on Marvel's decided to ditch Tyler completely, which includes his Marvel theme.

It seems pretty clear that something like that happened, yes. Tyler's departure and Elfman's hiring was too fishy for there not to have been something weird happening behind the scenes.

The rumor mill has it that Tyler was working on the Furious 7 while he was contractually supposed to be exclusively working on Avengers 2.
