ZIPI Y ZAPE Y LA ISLA DEL CAPITÁN
Original Motion Picture Soundtrack
Music Composed and Conducted by Fernando Velázquez
Performed by The Bilbao Symphony Orchestra & Chorus

It’s time for new adventures! This Christmas, naughty twins Zip and Zap have taken their old tricks too far. Their punishment will be a business trip with their parents to a distant island. But a terrifying storm rolls in and they never reach their destination. Seeking shelter, they find an enormous Victorian mansion which just happens to be a children’s home run by the apparently friendly but eccentric Miss Pam. Nothing is what it seems and Zip and Zap will have to discover the island’s hidden mystery. A challenge full of adventure and excitement proves just how brave Zip and Zap are.

As in the previous Zipi y Zape y el Club de la Canica, the film has been directed by Oskar Santos, and the score is again composed by Fernando Velázquez (Crimson Peak, The Impossible, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, Hercules). Velázquez’s new orchestral tour de force reprises Zip & Zap’s memorable main theme, but also encompasses a fresh and original score – nearly 80 minutes of tunes, motifs, adventure, tension, mystery ... Never was a sequel so good!

Performed by the Bilbao Symphony Orchestra and Chorus under the baton of the composer, the new Zip & Zap score is another real treat for real film music lovers.

ZIPI Y ZAPE Y EL CLUB DE LA CANICA
Original Motion Picture Soundtrack
Music Composed and Conducted by Fernando Velázquez
Performed by The RTVE Orchestra & Chorus

If you’re going to have a great adventure, you’d better have a good partner along for the ride, because having someone to share it with makes it twice as much fun. And Zip & Zap are two of a kind!

Directed by Oskar Santos (El mal ajeno), and based on the popular Spanish comic characters created by Escobar, the film tells the story of Zip & Zap, naughty twins who, after they steal their final school exams, are sent to the Esperanza, a strict summer school where all types of entertainment are forbidden. Their mischief gets out of hand when they form the Marble Gang, the children’s resistance, to defy the evil headmaster. The Gang winds up uncovering a mysterious secret hidden deep within the school. Thanks to their wits, bravery and unwavering faith in friendship, Zip & Zap and the rest of the Marble Gang are in for the most wonderful adventure of their lives.

The exciting full symphonic score is composed and conducted by Fernando Velázquez (The Impossible, Mama, The Orphanage, Devil, The Last Days). An orchestral tour-de-force, which brings us back to the glorious sound of American adventure films in the ’80s, it is an emotional tribute from Velázquez to the film music that caught the dreams and imagination of a generation. There are echoes of Alan Silvestri, Bruce Broughton, James Horner and John Williams, handled by the composer in his own personal orchestral style.

Stunningly performed by the RTVE Symphony Orchestra & Chorus under the baton of the composer, this score is, without a doubt, one of the most remarkable efforts of Fernando Velázquez, and a real treat for nostalgic film music lovers.

I'm excited to listen to this new score as well. I'll probably check it out on Spotify first before ordering since it isn't a limited edition release.

I've just received a second disc for this release (i.e. disc only, not the full packaging).

Does anyone know why?
Was the first pressing faulty?

Arrived yesterday! I'll put this this right near the top of all Maestros scores! I am continually amazed by Velazquez and this release is a pure delight all the way through. I can't recommend this highly enough.

Some CDs came from the plant without the disc, aprox. 100 units. We realized this one day after sending all orders, so we sent another CD to each customer, and we have removed the empty jewels from the stock.
