Loved this show when it aired. Even back then my favorite shows got canceled early.
(another being Kolchak)

What made the show work was the chemistry between Jeff Goldblum and Ben Vereen. I also think their acting was above average for an 80's television show.

Episode spoiler:
The "feminist hit-man" line in the above episode was hilarious.

Looks like 12 episodes were released on DVD in 2010, minus the pilot because of legal issues.

Cuba Gooding, Jr. (anyone remember him?) owes his tiresome onscreen persona to Ben Vereen's (no one remembers him) performance here. wink

Flashback...flashback...flashback...

When I was in the tenth grade, our Spanish language teacher commented amusedly that two friends and their humorous banter and anyics reminded him of "that tv show, what was it called?" Even then, just a few years after it went off the air, it was forgotten.

After a seemingly eternal silence, I piped up, "Tenspeed and Brownshoe."

"Yes, that was it!"

Continued silence. LOL

God, I hated high school (and vice versa).

Oh man that's hilarious! I was watching the episode on YouTube and thinking to myself Ben Vereen reminds me of someone other than Ben Vereen. You nailed it!
