Is Max Steiner's star under the heading of Motion Pictures or Recording? I was there the day they dedicated it, but if it was for anything other than Motion Pictures, I don't recall. My point being, of course, why isn't Goldsmith's star for Motion Pictures? (A few Hollywood notables -- Bing Crosby, for one -- have stars in multiple categories, but somehow I don't think it's likely Goldsmith will be getting another star.)

Just saying.

If only Jerry could have lived to see his name immortalized along with Brett Ratner, Wolfgang Puck, and The Rock...

I just assumed he got one a long time ago. Incredible. How about John Williams? I didn't find one in a quick internet search.

Because like Jerry they could have cared less.

I remember Lois Carruth told me once that Jerry never wanted one. She said it wasn't a big thing for him. I remember she also said that Elmer B. bought his.

I mean you basically had to buy it if you wanted one in the first place. You had to have so many signatures to be considered for one and then lay out some big bucks to the people that run it.

He definitely deserves to be remembered and I'm glad he is honored but hopefully none of his family had to pay for it. I think he frowned on that part of it.

Great. Now people can walk all over Goldsmith just like Ridley Scott did.

Always happy to see Goldsmith get some attention. But this is an entirely purchased "honor," and part of a really tacky tourist trap, so it's hard for me to get too excited.
