That one has an original more famous Shakespearean title anyhow, but I'm not sure it IS that. That was based on a true story. I don't recognise the actor at all. A sort of poor man's Richard Widmark.

It does look like he's wearing pattern equipment, or at least a rucksack, and WWII Mediterranean kit. I don't think that popgun's a Webley though, and the terrain looks like Crete all right.

I'm talking crap here. I was mixing up RoryR's with 'Ill Met By Moonlight' aka 'Night Ambush' which is a similar production.

It looks like Peter Burton, in which case .... cat from bag out.

Bloody hell among some Dodecanese, with cretinous Nazis in pursuit.

Who? They? Now I dare not say?

now thats a good clue.
We often have wrong directions which one poster swears blind it isnt but it turns out to be right.
Other times someone corrects a wrong direction and they turn out to be right.
All part of the game.
Weve all been wrong at times and other times we nail one.
Such is life.
How do we know our cryptic msgs are understood? Good clues confirm suspicions, bad clues are so obvious the world and his dog gets it. So err on the side of clever clues. Sorted.

Bugger ... now I've had to edit mine to follow suit.

'Ill met by Moonlight' also had Dirky boy, but on Crete. These Med islands all look the same in films.

Not sure, but I think this may have been a Milestone in this actor's career.
