Oh man, I've had the game on my radar since it was announced last year, and it looked very intriguing then, but I didn't know Wintory was composing the music! Very excited now, and the clips sound wonderful! I am a *HUGE* fan of the Journey score, one of my all-time favorite scores, and Abzu will be one to watch. Thanks Ryan!
Album is out August 2 in digital for $7. Track listing:

Nice to see that the score is getting a proper physical release. Still working on my review of this one. It's an incredibly immersive score, I like to think of it as an oceanic ballet. It's also been selling incredibly well - according to the composer it's surpassed total sales for Assassin's Creed Syndicate very fast.
I'm waiting on the game to come out on Xbox One in a month or so. I did buy the score in 24 bit wav on Bandcamp a couple months ago. It is nice but not thematically rich. I do enjoy his score to Journey a little more, I think only because I played the game have more of a visual association. But to be honest $7 is a great deal for a losslesss 24-bit download. I'm possitive Varese is going to want more than twice as much. Also Journey is only $5.
I think it's the score of the year. The final cue is gorgeous.
Hear, hear! This one and Clint Mansell's High-Rise for me. Tremendous orchestral works built of majesty and mystery and melody and passion and vision for supporting their respective medias as much as the media supports them.
Way to attempt to completely dismiss my criticisms by laughing at them. Good show!
I'm only laughing because I sense this is all I ever get to read from you, how you are constantly disappointed by everything; how everything lacks the themes you desperately need to seemingly enjoy good music. Listen mate, this is great music, by a great composer. You haven't truly experienced what this music has to offer unless you encounter is first-hand in the video game where is shines ever so brightly. The whole package is where your mood comes in. But, as an album, this is Class-A composition. Forget that it is scoring something you need themes from, and enjoy it as the music that sprung from Wintory's mind. He took nothing, and then made something. Something really magical as he typically does.
Right, if I was playing the game it would be awesome. But I'm not, so I don't understand why this is something people are interested in listening to on its own. Plus I'm not always disappointed, just that very few things coming out are up there with my existing favorites.
Right, if I were watching the movie it would be awesome. But I'm not, so I don't understand why this is something people are interested in listening to on its own.
I changed something in the above quote which shows how dumb it is.

Umm, he`s got you there...
The music to Star Ruler 2 and Stellaris are both excellent as well; the latter seems the more playable of the two 4x space strategy games btw.
