If you were a fan of Power Glove's work on FAR CRY 3: BLOOD DRAGON, have no fear because they worked on the semi-sequel that just debuted last night, TRIALS OF THE BLOOD DRAGON. It's available on Spotify, and you can sample a good portion of the album here:

Steeped in 80s-synthy-goodness, it's making me want to binge-watch all of Miami Vice right now lol

And here's the Spotify link in my endless quest to get more people on it, my favorite digital listening platform.

Thanks for the recommendation. I really liked FAR CRY 3 too. Pure 80s synth pastiche, of course, but right up my alley.

Cool!

Had bought this if it was on CD.

Hi-Res 24bit and standard 16bit CD lossless versions available on Qobuz, prices not that different from a CD purchase...

FB is still clinging on to physical media, so I don't think it matters to him that the music is available in lossless format.

Personally, I'll gladly buy this in whatever format there is -- lossless or not! In fact, I've already bought it.

FB is still clinging on to physical media, so I don't think it matters to him that the music is available in lossless format.

Maybe it's a perceived "portability" issue.

If I had embraced digital, I would love a setup whereby I had one media centre (i.e. PC with data storage), and speakers in several different rooms in the house, and the ability to control which room's speakers I wanted to transmit that music to via wi-fi.

Not sure how do-able that is, and it would also require spending a lot of time ripping all my CDs. And because I've got so many, they would have to be ripped in a lossy format just so it takes up less hard drive space.

At the moment, it's just a lot less hassle to simply grab a CD and take it with me to wherever the CD player is, i.e. downstairs with the volume loud enough so I can hear when I'm upstairs. And it's also easier to take that same CD to play in the car. Granted, I could probably copy files to a USB stick and plug that into the car stereo, but that still requires some time and effort in advance to choose what to put on the stick. A random last-minute choice of what music to take with me would be "delayed" by having to go to the PC and finding files to copy.

Maybe this should be a discussion for a separate thread, but that's my main reason for just sticking with what I've been used to up until now, and why download-only releases simply don't interest me. So in that respect, the format of the music does influence whether it's something I end up with in my collection, but since I've probably got more music than I can listen to anyway, I'm not really bothered if I'm missing out on something new for that reason.

Plus I recently discovered my iTunes no longer worked after a separate Apple software update a few months ago which seems to have automatically installed itself on my PC. I was using iTunes 9, now I've had to upgrade to 12 to fix it. But I wonder how long before they stop even providing a "physical" iTunes program, and all that's available is a website account for you to log into and play your music that's stored in the cloud (like Spotify et al)?
