Quick question that I've been wondering about and the answer may even be in the awesome liner notes of the LLL expanded set. But anyways, Michael Kamen would often use similar or the same tracks from movie to movie. For example, the Lethal Weapon 2 track Helicopter Approach and Helicopter Attack being reused for the motorcycle chase scene in Lethal Weapon 3.

Did he do new recordings of these tracks for the movies or were the tracks literally just lifted from the vaults and placed in?

I know it's a random question, but one that has had me curious for a while now. By the way, on the subject, the Lethal Weapon 2 track I mentioned is probably one of my favorite tracks throughout the entire series.

The helicopter track in LW3 is just the LW2 track. Also reused is the Stilt House fight at the hockey game. Kamen did re do his Hollywood boulevard chase track though in a new arrangement in LW2.

Another question. In LW4 after the Chinatoen chase the music for the scene where Jet Li kills one of his own in the roof. I don't think that piece of music is in the set, is it tracked?

That part is tracked as well. The percussion comes from Underwater Fight for example.
A lot of the cues in LW4 were altered or (partially) replaced with music from the other LWs in post production.
The film version of Underwater Fight Concludes is a good example as it's purely edited from various bits and pieces of what was recorded. Surprisingly none of those made it onto the LALALAND set. For example the percussion section of that cue comes from a lengthy percussion wild take that was improvised during the sessions. It runs for 6 minutes if I remember correctly. Great stuff but unfortunately dropped from the CD set.
Anyhow, it shows how much the LW4 music was altered afterwards.
