One is Trancers. The other will delight golden agers as it's our last in a series of restorations of the original tracks from this composer. The main attraction is something I've wanted for some time.
Well this is almost certainly another Rozsa release. That's awesome and I'm all in! The part of Roger's clue that will decidedly NOT delight fans like me is that this is apparently "the last". Which means everything else is thought to be lost.

Yavar
Or at least everything else of Rozsa's that's from the Paramount vaults (which is where the last few Rozsa scores [with the exception of Golden Voyage] were sourced) are thought lost.
Yes, I certainly HOPE that is what comes about. But for his first decade of work in Hollywood that seems extremely unlikely...and new recordings are becoming fewer and further between.
Universal? Haven't the other Intrada releases been from Paramount?
Yes, all of the previous Golden Age Intrada releases last year had been part of "Paramount Picture's ongoing Historical CDs preservation efforts." Therefore I suppose the same will be true for this last Rozsa CD and we will probably get all that still has survived from the remaining Paramount scores FIVE GRAVES TO CAIRO, SO PROUDLY WE HAIL and THE HOUR BEFORE THE DAWN. Maybe even a few original cues from THE MAN IN HALF MOON STREET which had been newly recorded by Intrada for their 2014 CD.

True. That said, even a couple of years ago, I would never have dreamed that "The Lost Weekend" and "Double Indemnity" (two of my very favorite Rózsas) would have survived as wonderfully well as they did. So I can't complain.
Certainly curious what this last volume will bring us.
Well said Schiffy. And Lokutus, I certainly hope Friedhofer's Joan of Arc turns up some day, as unlikely as that might be. Since it's one of Doug Fake's favorite scores EVER, I think an Intrada re-recording might be more likely than the original tracks turning up unexpectedly. But even that is pretty unlikely as there hasn't been a new Friedhofer recording in two decades.
Or perhaps it is Spellbound or Blood on the Sun having extended treatments? I'd prefer what has been already suggested though.
BLOOD ON THE SUN most definitely needs a new recording. I hope Intrada will bring back their Excalibur releases and do BLOOD ON THE SUN and a complete SAHARA. A 2 CD release titled " Miklos Rozsa and WW2 " would be a dream come true.

I like your logic. FIVE GRAVES TO CAIRO would be an awesome main attraction and certainly something I've wanted for a long time. But any Rozsa is a must buy for me.
Considering the timing of the release- Monday- Memorial Day- perhaps the new Rozsa release contains "So Proudly We Hail" and others. I sure hope so! Happy Memorial Day To All!

I would also like the logic to see more Rozsa Noir scores. The Universal productions for Brute Force and The Killers have only been on CD under the EU law and on LP on Citadel. It would be great to see Intrada restorations for these in the future. But now let's see what's left of his Paramount scores in the "ongoing Historical CDs preservation efforts"
