Just got back from a great evening of John Williams music with David Newman conducting the New York Philharmonic.
Newman did a bang up job of leading the orchestra. What a sound!! Some selections with film, some without. Either way gorgeous stuff. Highlights for me were Born on the Fourth of July, Harry Potter, Jane Eyre, Close Encounters and 2 Star Wars selections: Rey's Theme and Throne Room and Finale. Just a phenomenal showcase of of exceptional orchestral playing of phenomenal music!
I could bathe in this stuff 24/7. I wish they would do a Herrmann night too........
